Victoria Baskett Patient Safety Foundation Scholarship Award

The Victoria Baskett Patient Safety Foundation’s mission is “To improve patient safety by educating patients and families on the importance of finding their voices.” The Four I’s of the Foundation are inspire, inform, innovate, and improve. Scholarships are awarded to students or individuals pursuing associate degrees, baccalaureate degrees, advanced degrees, or specialty certification classes with hopes of making a difference in the healthcare field.

Only completed applications will be considered. Do not leave items blank.

Please attach your letter of recommendation (from a non-relative individual) to your application in PDF form.

No additional documentation will be accepted or reviewed.

Fall Designations:

1. Two Fall Victoria Baskett Patient Safety Foundation Scholarship Awards for $500. 

2. The Victoria Baskett Patient Safety Foundation provides two $500 scholarships to CFVHS employees! Scholarships are awarded to individuals pursuing associate degrees, baccalaureate degrees, advanced degrees, or specialty certification classes with hopes of making a difference in the healthcare field. 

3. One lucky young woman each Fall will receive the Victoria Baskett Healthcare Impact Scholarship for $1,000. This young lady will come from the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant Class of Contestants. The winner selected will be striving to pursue a career in the healthcare field, where she will be working to improve patient safety and the patient experience by placing patients and families at the center of their care.

2. The Victoria Baskett Patient Safety Foundation provides two $500 scholarships to CFVHS employees! Scholarships are awarded to individuals pursuing associate degrees, baccalaureate degrees, advanced degrees, or specialty certification classes with hopes of making a difference in the healthcare field. 

3. Each Spring, the foundation will grant The Eugene Baskett Excellence in Compassion Scholarship for $1,000 to a UNC Rex employee. Eugene Baskett was the epitome of kindness and respect to each individual he met. At a strong 92 years old, he left behind a legacy of putting others first. With a great majority of his care being from UNC Rex, this is our way of giving back to his caregivers. This scholarship will recognize an individual who believes in the importance of going above and beyond the call of duty to cultivate relationship-based care for patients and their caregivers.
